“British Land will continue to invest in Broadgate, ensuring that it maintains its status as the premier City of London office estate. We recognise that physical works to improve the estate can cause difficulties for local businesses and people. Following feedback from our occupiers, we will undertake comprehensive consultation on future projects with all key stakeholders. We will also work with Broadgate Estates, occupiers and contractors to improve how we communicate, before, during and after each project. We welcome your feedback.”

Tim Roberts, Head of Offices, British Land

Public space

We have created more than an acre of new public space at Broadgate, including a wide glass-covered pathway and a new public square.

Pedestrian links

The north-south links project further improves pedestrian links with the estate, as well as the route to and from Liverpool Street Station.

Building Design

Both 201 Bishopsgate and The Broadgate Tower have achieved BREEAM Excellent ratings for managing their environmental impacts.

Timeline

British Land’s ownership of Broadgate has taken place in stages, beginning with participation in the development of One Finsbury Avenue in 1983.

“Broadgate is a fantastic creation, and by signing for space we take a major step towards providing the best environment for the practice of law.”
