Public Space

We have created more than an acre of new public space, as part of our development of 201 Bishopsgate and The Broadgate Tower.

The Galleria and PiazzaThe Galleria and Plaza provide occupiers with a wide glass-covered pathway between 201 Bishopsgate and The Broadgate Tower, and a large public square in the south-west corner of the development looking towards Primrose Street. This publicly accessible space will also offer further retail and recreational opportunities for the 35,000 people who will be working at Broadgate each day from 2009 onwards.
The Galleria and PiazzaThe Galleria and Plaza are paved in granite, continuing the Broadgate tradition of using high quality finishes. The 100ft (30m) high Galleria is also planted with mature silver maple trees, and the 40m x 40m Plaza features public seating and trees. The public footpaths are paved with York Stone. Once established, a ‘green‘ wall will screen Broadwalk House.

“At Broadgate we have one of the best ranges of shops, bars and restaurants in the City. It is a vital ingredient in the estate’s popularity and success. We are always looking to create new retail opportunities to add to Broadgate's offer and provide what our office customers want. The Galleria is a stunning new retail space and we are continuing discussions to create the best possible mix of new occupiers.”
