Broadgate on ice

The ice rink is back at Broadgate, from December until early March.
This is the original ‘turn up and skate’ outdoor ice rink in the heart of the City of London, with no need to pre-book. So if you are in the City over the next few months come along and join in the fun.
At Christmas time we will be providing free use of the ice rink for the Sense in the City Ice Skate, raising money for deaf and blind people. Community Links will also carry out their annual Toy Appeal around the ice rink, as well as bringing local children to enjoy a free skating session.
“We have sourced energy-efficient chillers and high-performance pipe insulation to reduce energy use and operating costs. We are also running a shorter skating season, providing savings for occupiers, whilst still allowing their staff to enjoy the immensely popular ice rink during the festive period.”

For the second year running, we appointed an East London Business Alliance (ELBA) Legacy 2020 Job Link candidate to the ice rink team, providing them with full-time employment during the winter. We have also donated five skating season tickets to local causes to use as raffle prizes.
During January, the ice rink will again play host to the Broomball League. This exciting game is played on the ice in training shoes, with players slipping and sliding across the ice, swinging ‘brooms’ in an effort to sweep the ball into the opposing goal.
Broadgate ice rink is situated next to Liverpool Street station and is surrounded by a huge variety of bars, restaurants and cafés, where skaters can enjoy a well-earned drink and a bite to eat after coming off the ice.
Working together
We work in partnership with a range of community groups and charities to make sure that local people benefit from the ice rink. These include Community Links, East London Business Alliance and Sense.
