The 25.66 hectare site is located within the Lower Don Valley,
adjacent to Meadowhall Shopping Centre and the River Don.
- The site was previously used for heavy industry and related largely to the steel industry
- The area suffered a significant decline in the post-industrial period
- The majority of the site has been vacant for more than 15 years
