  • Use of materials from sustainable sources
  • Construction waste below national average minimising waste to landfill
  • All construction activity will be in accordance with the British Land Sustainability Brief

Biodiversity

  • Extensive use of trees, plants and grassland habitats, beneficial to birds, insects and other wildlife
  • The River Don waterside will be conserved and improved through the creation of a landscaped riverside park
  • Commercial buildings will have ‘brown’ roofs to enhance biodiversity in the development
  • Significant numbers of bird and bat boxes to be installed
  • The ‘sustainable urban drainage’ system will be designed to control water runoff
